African Forage Cabbage is an open leaf cabbage used to add diversity to cover crop blends and grazing. Due to having a different spectrum of alkaloids, it works very well with other brassicas in mixtures. African Forage Cabbage has a deep tap root that is capable of breaking up hardpans. It does have a C:N ratio of 14-25: 1. It does a good job of sequestering nutrients and carrying them forward to the next growing season. African Cabbage also sequesters Sulphur and is capable of releasing phosphorous that is tightly held by the soil colloid.
